Le regard doit se perdre, perdre l’habitude de regarder un corps comme on regarde un corps. Fragmentée, la peau devient pierre, la courbe un horizon, l’ombre devient vallée. Il ne reste que l’essentiel : la forme, déterminée par le volume, lui-même déterminé par la lumière. Ce n'est pas le corps que l'on regarde ici. C'est ce qu'il reste du corps quand on accepte enfin de ne plus le posséder du regard.

The gaze must lose itself, unlearn the habit of looking at a body as one looks at a body. Fragmented, the skin becomes stone, the curve a horizon, the shadow becomes a valley. All that remains is the essential: form, shaped by volume, itself shaped by light. This is not the body we are looking at here. It is what remains of the body once we finally accept not to possess it with our gaze.
